invests in Cryovac packaging |

Crysbro, Sri Lanka’s leading poultry processor,
launched their new packing concept, Cryovac
Packaging at a ceremony today. Crysbro has extended
their product value by tying up with Cryovac
Packaging in order to achieve enhanced consumer
appeal.
Cryovac packaging will reinforce Crysbro as the
leader in the poultry market. This style of
packaging assists in improving food hygiene,
processing and manufacturing efficiencies as well as
better consumer presentation.
Cryovac shrink bags are made of special permeable
material formulation and are designed specially for
fresh poultry to avoid hydrogen sulphide
accumulation which would result in off odour. These
shrink wrap vacuum packages offer minimal free
moisture and are leak proof.
Since 1972, Crysbro has been raising chickens in a
lush up-country environment under the strictest
guidelines. Crysbro is the only poultry processor in
Sri Lanka to receive ISO 14001- environmentally safe
and BRC (British Consortium Certification)
certification. In addition, Crysbro has also been
awarded ISO 9001, HACCP- ISO 22000 and 2
certifications for Halal.

conditions, and therefore we are proud of our
accomplishments and these awards,” said Mr. Mohamed
Imtiaz, Chairman of Crysbro. “Our Halal
certifications are especially important as our
consumers are our main focus for attention and
consideration.”
Crysbro is a totally 100% Sri Lankan source
enterprise, where everything from grandparent bird
to the final broiler chicken are homegrown. A
subsidiary company, Golden Grains, has invested in
land and machinery to produce high quality maize and
soya poultry feed which will be used to ensure
higher productivity.
In a statement, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation,
Mahaweli Development and Environment, Mr.
Maithripala Sirisena said that utilizing the
assistance of the private sector of the country is
vital to bring in foreign exchange to the country
and for the development of the nation as a whole.
“Therefore we have to give recognition to Crysbro
for their effort in improving the standards of the
food sector and the diversification with which they
work. These projects also open up job opportunities
for them. I would like to wish Crysbro the best in
all their plans for taking the food industry to a
healthy future.”
Crysbro has been breeding and nurturing Hybro PG
plus broiler breeders in state-of-the art hatcheries
and farms in environmentally friendly isolated
areas. These isolated areas are protected with bio
security measures to prevent the spread of disease
and other threats to humans or animals .

working in all their production sites.
